Machine washing, hot water, tumble drying, bleach, and fabric softener all break down the compression over time. If you must machine wash, use a lingerie bag on a gentle cycle with cold water, but hand washing will always last longer.
The bodysuit panels are extremely comfortable without being too restrictive.
